If your kids are persistent, super perceptive (never miss a thing of what's happening in the room), intense, and constantly engaged and alert, you might have a "little livewire" in your hands, and that should explain why they never (ever) sleep.

In this episode, I'm joined by the Researcher, Sleep and Temperament Expert, and Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Macall Gordon. As the mother of two extraordinary, sensitive, and intense young children who refused to sleep, Macall has been researching, writing, and offering advice as a pediatric sleep consultant for over 20 years. She holds a B.S. in Human Biology from Stanford and a Master's degree in Applied Psychology; she is also a Certified Gentle Sleep Coach, a sleep infant researcher and lecturer, and a Parenting Coach.

Throughout this episode, Macall talks about what parents should know about their kids' sleep and how to improve it. We also delve into the myths and the outdated "old school" knowledge about children's health, emotional regulation, and development.

In addition, Macall explains why sleep interventions on infants younger than 6 months are a waste of time, the reason behind gigantic tantrums, how to deal with them, and so much more.
