From Selling Carpet to Running His Own Logistics Company: Meet Napoleon Suarez

Napoleon Suarez is the founder/CEO of Fishbox. His job is to make sure that his customers’ packages never get stolen again. Napoleon is also a photographer in his free time and currently lives in Philadelphia, PA. His favorite non-profit organization is the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia; he roots for ALL of the Philly sports teams; and his favorite Street Fighter character is Ryu.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a major in sociology, Napoleon shares his winding journey from moving back home with his mom after graduating from college for a few months before starting his career working various sales jobs. His sales jobs led him to a newly discovered career in search engine optimization (SEO) before an annoying and costly mishap with a package ordered from Amazon during a Black Friday sale encouraged him to create a solution to ensure packages would arrive safely to their rightful owners in the Philly area.

1. Even the least glamorous jobs help you develop valuable skillsets that can take you far in your career.

2. Persistence pays off. It can make the difference between getting the job or not getting the job.

3. Sometimes, you have to humble yourself and start over from the bottom. This is particularly common when transitioning to a new industry.
