The House of the Lord

Some of us possess many desires. Others, like David, have one desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord everyday of our lives.

Desiring to live in God’s presence above all else is an anecdote to anxiety. Placing supreme value on communion with our Father, anchors our souls in a state of tranquility. This spiritual focus offers a profound peace, causing the customary presence of anxiety to vanish from our lives.

Let’s consider David. He sought God's presence, which opened the doors to God’s temple where serenity and purpose replace worry and distress.

Psalm 27:3-4
“Though an army deploys against me, my heart is not afraid; though a war breaks out against me, still I am confident. I have asked one thing from the LORD; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the LORD and seeking Him in His temple.”

Psalm 18:46
“In my distress I called upon the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for His help reached His ears.”

All Scripture References are from the Holman Christian Standard Bible.
