In partnership with NCSA CyberSecure My Business, ITSPmagazine is thrilled to offer a new SMB CyberSecurity Awareness Series based on this well-received 10 Common CyberSecurity Misconceptions resource from NCSA.

We have at least a baker’s dozen of episodes prepared for you—once every couple of weeks—where we will be digging deep into each of these misconceptions.

It seems like we are finally over the problem of trying to convince SMBs that they are a target—either directly or indirectly—for cybercriminals, and we are now at the point where we must help these critical businesses become and remain cyber secure. SMBs are now aware of the damaging impact it could have on their business, the employees, and the benefits associated with having a healthy cybersecurity posture.

We’ll have experts and luminaries from government, research, university, and small- and medium-sized businesses to help us all understand what can be done and what the main areas are for which we should focus as embark on the journey to develop a robust cybersecurity program.

To kick things off in this Episode Zero, we have a good chat with Jamie Hine from the FTC and Ryan Disraeli, representing a once-small, now medium-sized business. Together we recap the overall need for SMBs to be cyber aware, discuss the value of recognizing these common misconceptions, and review the plan we have moving forward as we cover each of them in this multi-episode series.

It will be an ongoing conversation that may last well beyond the fundamental ten misconceptions we currently have slated.

Thanks for joining us for this first podcast.

We look forward to having you join us for all episodes.
