In this episode, we continue our journey to RSAC APJ by talking about the human side of cybersecurity. The human element was the main therm of RSAC SF and, of course, the focus remains there for APJ.

We invited Ann Johnson and Sauvik Das to share their ideas and findings behind the many reasons why cybersecurity behaviors are so hard to control and find the right way to make it part of our everyday life — business and personal life if we can even dare to break them apart.

As you can guess it was simply impossible to not have an amazing conversation with such incredible thinkers. We are sure you will enjoy this podcast as much as we enjoyed recording it.

Here are the abstracts for their presentation

Ann Johnson
‘When billions of people formed the largest remote workforce in history, overnight, the cybersecurity industry learned much more than how to scale virtual private networks. We were reminded that security technology is fundamentally about improving productivity and collaboration through inclusive end-user experiences. Ann Johnson, corporate vice president at Microsoft, shares the five long-term security implications of the global pandemic, how it will give rise to digital empathy, and how it will ultimately influence the future of cybersecurity.‘

Sauvik Das
‘Little is known of the complex social consequences of our security behaviours, and vice versa. Sauvik Das’s work on social cybersecurity bridges this gap. He will present work describing how social influences affect end-user cybersecurity behaviors through a series of empirical studies, including an analysis of how cybersecurity behaviours diffused through the social networks of 1.5 million Facebook users.‘
