You need to slow down in order to speed up & what I mean by that is that it’s perfectly healthy to take a break. Not only that but it’s in our best interest to find ways to recharge our body + mind throughout the week. Think of us like rechargeable batteries, at some point we’re going to run out of energy and we need to stop to recharge back up to 100%. Whether that’s getting a few extra hours of sleep than we normally do, taking an ice bath, watching a movie at the end of a long week, we need to prioritize our recovery. Today we’re going to dive into 9 ways that I recover which help me feel better than ever, let’s fire it UP!

9 Ways to Recover Your Body + Mind

(1) Prioritize your sleep and make sure you’re getting enough so that you can feel your best self on a daily basis.  (2) Commit to a 100% clean diet for the short term, it will make all the difference in how you and your body feels. (3) Take breaks from both alcohol and drugs when needed. You’re in control for how long that break is but see what one, two or even three weeks feels like. (4) Use cold or hot therapy to reset, it will help tremendously.  (5) Binge entertainment you enjoy because it’s completely healthy to take a break and relax.  (6) Sit in stillness and use the time to to learn, grow & motivate you for the future.  (7) Get the body moving and the juices flowing. Giving it 25% of what your normal 100% feels like could be a good recovery session.  (8) Put down the phone and take a break from emails, texts & social when you feel the need to do so. (9) Fuel your body with the proper hydration by making sure you’re drinking enough water in a given day. It will have a huge impact on your recovery and wellbeing.

Challenge for the listeners

Spend 10 minutes within the next 24hrs and consider what you do to recover your body and mind. I’m not here to tell you that you MUST do it daily or weekly but I can guarantee your body and mind would benefit from some type of recovery. Consider the 9 ways we discussed today and think about the ones that come to mind that maybe I didn’t discuss. Prioritize them and add them into your life as needed, I guarantee it will make a difference.
