Proverbs 7 starts with the instruction to keep the words and commandments and also to keep wisdom and understanding close.
Chapter 8 celebrates the virtues of wisdom and the benefits it brings. It also describes wisdom as being present at the time of creation.
In Proverbs 9, wisdom is summed up as fearing God and understanding as having knowledge of God.
Proverbs 10 begins a new section, ‘the proverbs of Solomon’, and chapters 10 and 11 provide short sayings which contrast the godly and the wicked.
