Deut 24-27

Chp 24 covers marriage and divorce laws
When a man takes a wife and if later, he finds some uncleanness in her, he is entitled to give her a Certificate of divorce. she remarries and then divorces again, the first husband is not allowed to marry her again that would be detestable in the eyes of the Lord.  It also covers when a man first enters into marriage that he is exempted from military duties for one year.   Additional laws were:
Do not take a pair of millstones as security for a debt. Because that would be taking a person’s livelihood as security.
If someone was caught kidnapping a fellow Israelite and treating them as a slave, the kidnapper must die.
When someone made a loan to a neighbor, they were not allowed to go into their house to get what was offered as a pledge because this would be a form of humiliations towards the debtor.
Warning against taking advantage of a hired worker who is poor or needy.  They were to be paid thier rightful wages.
Parents were not to be put to death for a crime committed by their children nor children put to death for crimes committed by their parents.
It speaks about harvest season.  If something is left behind while harvesting,  it was to be left there for the widow,  foreigner, or a family without a father.--- for the poor.
Chp 25 speaks about fairness and justice
Whenever a dispute occurred, it was to be taken to the court and the judges would decide the case, acquitting the innocent and condemning the guilty.
If brothers were living together and one of them died without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family.  The husband brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her.  The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother.  It further describes what happens if the brother-in-law refuses to marry the widow of his brother.  Warnings were given regarding using differing weights or measures.  For the Lord detest anyone who dealt dishonestly.
The Israelites were reminded of what the Amalekites did on their journey from Egypt. Those that lagged behind were attacked by the Amalekites because they had no fear of God.  However, the Lord advised them that because of that their names would be blotted out.
Chp 26 speaks of first fruit offering --- the Israelites were instructed to set aside the first of their harvest and commit it to the Lord.
A reminder of obedience --The Israelite are reminded to follow the command that the Lord has given them to observe them with all of their heart and soul.  They are also reminded that they are his chosen people, his treasured possession as he promised
Chp 27 Moses addresses them again regarding the laws and decrees that they were to follow once they crossed the land of the Jordan.  They were instructed to build an altar on Mount Ebal made of stones and plaster and they were to write the laws on the stones, burnt offerings were to be made and this would serve as a remaindered.
It concludes with a list of laws that would cause a curse to be brought on the person that violated the law.  A few listed are-- cursed is anyone who makes an idol and sets it up to worship, cursed anyone who dishonors their father or mother; anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, fatherless or the widow and anyone who has sexual relations with any animal. Just to name a few.  They all had to acknowledge that they understood the laws by a verbal Amen.
