Summary Lev 21-23
Lev 21: Moses gives instructions to the priests – above all they were to be holy as the Lord is Holy. Instructions were given with regard to mourning, which they were not allowed to shave their heads. They were to marry only a virgin and not someone that was divorced, a widow or participated in prostitution. High standards were set as to who could approach the Tabernacle In order to offer sacrifices. No one with any deformity was allowed to enter.
Lev 22: Describes which offerings were acceptable and unacceptable. It could not be offered if there was any defects or blemishes.
Lev 23: Covers the various festivals that were to be observed including the Sabbath, day of Atonement and many others. This was to establish a tradition which was to be passed on to generations to come.
