In part 1 of our discussion, Georgia Halston told us the story of how she started her own B2B marketing and communications consultancy, Halston Marketing. Amazingly, one of Georgia's first clients was a Fortune 500 company!

 

Since starting up, Halston Marketing have developed a specialism within Heavy Industry (steel, chemicals, machinery manufacturing etc). Like insurance, these industries are heavily regulated. And like insurance, there are emerging technologies that can ease the compliance process and improve business operations. Collectively, these technologies are referred to as RegTech.

 

In 2019, Halston Marketing started RegTech Talks to help their clients in regulated industries. The idea is simple: to help clients understand how to use technology to meet compliance standards. They run quarterly events in Leeds and you can find more information here.

 

As you will hear, Georgia is very passionate about RegTech and the opportunities it offers. Another passion of Georgia's is flying. Georgia took up flying last year and she is working on getting her pilot's license. During the interview, we speak about what flying has taught her about life and business.
