Matt Eversmann joined the US Army's 75th Ranger Regiment and was part of the famous Black Hawk Down mission. He was a poor college student and joined the Army to get his life back on track. He found that the standards in the Ranger Regiment were much higher than he expected. He was given great authority and responsibility and found it to be a compelling opportunity.
