Dr. Caroline Buckee, Associate Director of the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics at Harvard University, joins Innovators to talk about championing the fight against infectious diseases and what challenges still lie ahead for the world of public health in a post-COVID-19 world.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Buckee earned a master’s degree in bioinformatics at the University of York. There, she helped map the DNA sequence of the malaria parasite Plasmodium knowlesi, an undertaking that sparked a lasting interest in pathogen genomics.

Buckee earned her PhD in mathematical epidemiology at Oxford University.
