The trucking industry currently does not have enough drivers to meet the increased demand caused by an uptick of activity on the consumer side. Covid made it worse since the age of the drivers has led to huge numbers choosing retirement. Replacing these drivers is slow as driver training/schools have needed to shut down or limit enrollment.
It is critically important to have good logistics and supply chain strategies, technology, and so much more. Still, the evidence is clear – without a good people strategy and technology to back it up, it doesn't matter how well you track your inventory, how well you plan the routes, and how well you communicate with your customers.
Stephanie Craig, Director, Solution Marketing, SAP SuccessFactors and Tim Motter, Solution Director, Travel & Transportation, SAP share their perspective on how HXM technology can help companies attract and retain drivers – and help solve the current global supply chain issues.
