FeatureKreep is a solodev who makes primarily game jam games. He is currently working on his first commercial game, titled Over My Dead Body. Today we will be talking about Looper and Lost In Translation. Looper is a 2D puzzle game with a very clever central mechanic for solving puzzles. I really enjoyed Looper and I also enjoyed Lost In Translation. FeatureKreep was called out by my past guest Erik X. Raj, the developer of Jump Rogi.
In today's episode we will discuss game jams, emulating a game boy game, developing your very first commercial game, what makes a good game jam theme?, puzzle design, the importance of self-imposed deadlines, UI design and implementation, and much more.
