Today's guest is GrimTalin, developer of The Adventures Of Elena Temple, released in 2019. Elena Temple is available on PC, Switch, and Xbox. I played it on my Switch and absolutely adored the experience. It is a 2D monochrome platformer with meta storytelling elements. It is extremely clever.
GrimTalin is based in Romania and I have interviewed him twice. My other conversation with the developer was for his more recent game, Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale, which is also excellent. You can find him on the web at grimtalin.com and also on Twitter @GrimTalin and on Instagram @grimtalin. You can purchase Elena Temple at the GrimTalin website.
In this episode we will discuss: What is monochrome? (I didn't know), gaming in the 80's, how to design dungeons, acquiring music for your game, implementing dynamic music, games going on sale, being a publisher and developer, collaborating with another developer to aid in development and publishing, and much more. A massive thank you to GrimTalin for joining me on this episode of IGI.
