According to a recent survey, 39% of higher education apps run in the cloud today, and that number is expected to increase to 62% by 2021. 

Most deployments will likely use a combination of a public cloud and a private environment that remain distinct entities but are bound together, an approach known as a hybrid cloud. Most experts agree that the hybrid cloud will be the new normal. According to a March 2020 report, more than 90% of global enterprises will rely on the hybrid cloud by 2022
