Dr. Lee Lambert, Chancellor at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona returns to another episode of Illuminate Higher Education. In this episode, he and podcast host Kiran Kodithala (CEO, N2N Services Inc.) discuss how community colleges can be a disruptive force in the movement to make higher education more accessible and affordable to all.

Community colleges play several critical roles in helping students continue their education. They offer associate’s degrees and certificate programs for individuals who are seeking skills and workplace development. They offer more affordable general education options for students who want to transfer to a four-year institution. They also provide an easy avenue back into education for students who have been in the workforce already.

As an institutional leader, Lee shares how important it is for him to always look ahead and anticipate trends and changes in the world, so the college can update or create new programs to meet the needs of students and future employers. For example, unbundling of degree programs is a growing trend that will allow students to take more ownership in their learning journeys and focus on the skills they need most.
