Reem is originally from Lebanon and graduated with a Bachelors degree from the Lebaneses International University in 2012. She moved to Germany to pursue a Master degree in telecommunication engineering at RWTH Aachen in Germany. After her studies, she joined Ericsson Eurolab, a research and development center that is located in Herzongrath (Germany), as a research engineer in radio network protocols. At the moment, she is a senior researcher, and her main research area is wireless technologies operating in unlicensed spectrum, such as LTE, 5G, and Wi-Fi, specifically aspects related to Physical layer design. For the past few years, Reem has represented Ericsson as a delegate to 3GPP standardization, where the technical specification for 3GPP technologies (such as LTE and 5G) are developed. Within her 6 years at Ericsson, Reem had filed 90+ patent applications, contributed to 4 journal and 3 conference papers. In 2019, she was the inventor of the year among Ericsson employees in Germany.
