I have often wondered if I would become jaded as a judge, if I would get harder instead of softer. Judge David Mortensen shares his perspective and how listening to a great volume of people with different problems has made him a more compassionate person who can relate to almost anybody. He shares stories of compassion between the jury and the people their decision hurts most, and how he personally strives to emulate kindness. Judge Mortensen also distinguishes the difference between stupid and evil. We all make stupid decisions and that makes us relatable to each other.
