Latoya Shauntay Snell joins me on the podcast today! I ran across her most recent viral article and had to have her on. Latoya is a mother, wife, marathon and ultra runner, chef and athlete for Hoka One One. Her work and story has been featured in the Huffington Post, Runner’s World, Refinery 29, People Magazine and more. She is also the co-host of the Long Run Podcast.

Latoya is a body positivity activist and advocates for the rights of all athletes at every size, background and personal identity. As someone who has dealt with on-line criticism and continues to deal with it, she shares how she deals with that and she does a great job turning negative comments into a powerful, inspiring story. You may have read her article in Glow Up a while back “I’m a Plus-Size Runner and I got Heckled at the NYC Marathon.”  Though experiences like that have been hard for Latoya she has ultimately used her experience to spread a positive message. Latoya is headed to run the Tokyo marathon in a couple of weeks and has a big race plans for 2019. You can follow her journey on her website “Running Fat Chef.”

Enjoy!
