Previous Episode: Boy From Idaho
Next Episode: Red Feather

You might remember Jessica, Matt, and Steve discussing this in previous episodes. It's the meeting Steve had with the bishopric council to decide how he moved forward in his relationship with the church and Jessica. At this point, he still had hope that they could be together as he was unwilling to accept himself fully.

A disciplinary council meeting is conducted when a church member has sinned in a way that the church feels they need to be sat in front of a council of priesthood holders. The goal is to figure out how much discipline needs to happen to that individual, and how far that discipline goes.

So the individual, and sometimes spouses and families come to this disciplinary council and share what the story is. And then, the members of this council's ward discuss how a disciplinary timeline works in the individual's favor.

Steve shares how he felt going into the meeting and what his hopes and fears were. He also discusses the aftermath of feeling completely disconnected from God and unsure of his next steps.

Highlights of the discussion:

Why Jessica stuck by Steve’s side through everything (06:17)How Matt feels about Jessica and Steve being so close (08:30)Mistakes that have been made establishing this relationship (13:45)What the  disciplinary council is (20:25)Steve prepares to meet with the stake president (26:20)His biggest concern going into the meeting (28:23)Steve felt so alone after leaving the disciplinary council meeting (32:10)His feelings on whether he regrets going through it all (40:36)
