Kay Glynn is a 70-year-old grandmother of 8 who currently resides in Missouri. She began dancing and acrobatics at the age of 4, and this led to owning her own dance and acrobatics studio for over 20 years. Kay was also a high school track and field phenom who held Iowa’s state long jump record for 30 years. Following graduation, she stepped away from the sport for many years and then resumed near the age of 50, setting national and world records for nearly a decade. Unfortunately, years of high-impact competition took a toll on her body, and she experienced hip dysplasia that led to severe arthritis and required surgeries to resurface both hips to relieve the pain. Despite these setbacks, she has once again risen to the top: at the age of 68, Kay set a new age group world record in pole vault, and a year later, she scored the highest heptathlon point total among men and women ages 65-69 in the National Masters Indoor Combined Events Championships.
