In this series, we have been talking about what it means to be a serious player and we've been looking at the different elements that are associated with it. The fifth element that is common to all serious players is what Ray calls the positive self-fulfilling prophecy. Ray and Brenda named this element when reflecting on the more than thirty interviews that they did over the course of three to four years, with people who described themselves as serious players. These serious players all loved what they did, and what they did really made a positive difference in other people's lives, and also in an economic sense.
