Welcomes back to House Wine, because as I say at the top of this episode - which ever wine you have in your glass that is your house wine.

This week I made the classic mistake of thinking that I knew and understood a region without actually having done much reading or research on it, ha! A testament to the fact that there is always something more to learn and understand about wine. Also a lesson to myself not to just assume I know something. I learned so much this week.

Why is Lambrusco Italy's quintessential food wine? How can there be so many varieties of the same grape? Is it sweet or is it dry? This is the official Lambrusco demystified.

I leaned heavy on some resources this week, I really needed to hit the books to make this one happen:

The Oxford Companion to Wine by Jancis Robinson

Wine Grapes by Jancis Robinson, Julia Harding and Jose Vouillamoz

The World Atlas of Wine 8th Edition by Jancis Robinson

and Native Italian Wine Grapes by Ian D'Agata

I mention some producers:

Cantina Della Volta:
https://cantinadellavolta.com/en/the-winery/

Chilarli:
https://www.dallaterra.com/producer/cleto-chiarli

Cavicchioli:

If you spot something that needs correcting or you would like to request an episode you can reach out at [email protected] or check out the House Wine Instagram @housewinepodcast

This podcast is 100% independent, it is written, narrated and produced by myself, Rachael so if you heard something you liked then scroll down and leave a comment or review, that is the best way that you can support the show.

Until next week, I hope you drink something delicious!
