This week, we look at the Italian Giallo film, “Don’t Torture a Duckling” followed by the short film, “Don’t Stare” and then the recent horror film, “The Possession of Hannah Grace.” News Features:

1. A heads up that the Texas Frightmare Weekend is coming up May 3, 4, 5, 2019 in Dallas Texas. Their 14th annual event will feature all the vendors, screenings, previews, panels, and cosplay fun that major conventions have, as well as featuring guests Sam Raimi, Robert Englund, Meatloaf, Tim Curry, Bruce Campbell, and many others. They have a great website with full details and pricing. Sounds like one worth checking out if you’re in the area or want to make a pilgrimage.

2. If you ever dreamed of being in the world of The Evil Dead, you get a chance. An officially licensed escape room based on The Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn will be opening July 2019 in Seattle Washington. Hourglass Escapes will be adding the third escape room to their top-rate facility that already features the themed rooms Rise of the Mad Pharaoh and Tales of the Ghostly Galleon put together by professionals from the theme park and movie industries. Their fully immersive escapes are loaded with special effects and actors who guide the process, and the new Evil Dead attraction should to be top notch.

3. IT 2 star Jessica Chastain recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show and made the spoilerish claim that the upcoming sequel has the bloodiest scene ever in a horror movie. And it involves eyeballs. After the river of blood washing down the hallway in The Shining and Lionel lawn-mowing his way through a mob of undead, can It 2 really have the bloodiest? It just makes us want to see the movie more to find out for ourselves. September 6, 2019 is the release date.

4. “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs” will be coming to the Shudder networks as a new limited series March 29, with a new episode every Friday. This is a return of the host, with a double-feature of horror movies presented along with sometimes-crude humor, inside stories, and some guest hosts that will join him for the episodes. It promises to be a lot of fun. There’s a teaser trailer on YouTube, and his first season is still available on Shudder if you’d like to check that out.

5. And in more Shudder news, Critters are coming March 21st! In Critters: A New Binge, the toothy furballs will be returning in an 8-episode revival. It’s Critters from space on a secret mission who encounter Christopher, a lovelorn high-schooler, his best friend Charlie, his crush Dana, and his mom Veronica - whose past will come back to bite them in this munch and crunch of dark-comedy horror mayhem. Check out the trailer in the show notes. We’re looking forward to this one. There’s no such thing as too much Critters. Unless you’re the one they’re after.
