We’ve only got about 4,000 weeks in our lifetime (not 40,000 like Liz says at the end of this episode - ha!), so do you want to spend those weeks halfway enjoying your experiences, or fully enjoying them? We’re talking about multitasking, where we avoid focusing or being present by trying to do several things at once. In this episode, Liz is sharing how she’s challenging herself to avoid multitasking in August to feel more present and in the moment than ever.

Some key takeaways from this episode include:

So much of multitasking is avoiding being present in the moment. When you’re going on a walk or doing household tasks, are you listening to music or a podcast? Try doing these without any noise and see how much more focused and present you feel.

Another way we multitask is watching TV while eating or enjoying a drink with our loved ones. We can’t fully enjoy our meal, our drink or our favorite TV show when our brain is trying to focus on all these things at once.

When you have a demanding job, it can also be difficult to leave your phone behind or turn off notifications. Odds are, whatever is going on at work can wait until you’re finished with your workout, your meal, or whatever you’re focusing on at the moment.
