Hidden Histories: Oonah Keogh

We’ve been hearing a lot in the news in the last couple of weeks about stockbrokers and some of the things they’ve been up to in recent years.
But because it’s International Women’s History Month, let’s talk about someone who broke the glass ceiling in that particular profession, and discuss the life of Oonah Keogh.
In 1925 - Oonah stood on the floor of the Dublin Stock Exchange - becoming one of - and potentially the very first - female stockbroker in the world. Her admission to the floor caused a sensation in the Dublin of 1925 - 12 years before DeValera’s constitution and its controversies on the place of women.
