It was a bad week for Liz Truss but a good one for George Canning.
Finally removed from the bottom of the table, Canning was, until this week, the shortest-serving Prime Minister in British history.
One of only four British Prime Ministers commemorated with a statue in Parliament Square, it may seem an unusual honour to bestow on a four-month Prime Minister.
His life was fundamentally linked to Ireland, and his name – in a post-Truss world – is back in the press.
To discuss, Gavan was joined by Donal Fallon for another episode of Hidden Histories.
