Luke Ming Flanagan is one of Ireland’s best known, and sometimes controversial political figures.
Little known today is his relation, Father Michael O’Flanagan, who only last week had a new Celtic Cross unveiled in his honour in Glasnevin Cemetery.
Like ‘Ming’, he was a champion of the rights of turf cutters, and one of Ireland’s most controversial priests in his day; he was also a brilliant inventor, and much more besides.
