This weekend marked the birthday of Anthony Burgess - author of one of the most celebrated and contested novels of the twentieth century, and someone whose life was linked to Ireland in many ways.
While the novel 'A Clockwork Orange' was banned in Ireland, the circumstances surrounding the film are astonishing, with its banning lasting until 1999 - more than a quarter of a century after the censor first rejected it.
But the way in which it came to be "banned" in Britain is one of the most curious tales in film history.
Donal Fallon joins Gavan for another episode of Hidden Histories to discuss.
