This week on the High Wire Woman podcast, Rosanna Berardi is talking about our bodies’ relationship with food. Her guest, Monica Lopera Nassar, is a nutrition health expert and the founder of Calibrate Your Wellness. Monica has spent twelve years developing strategic messaging around food and has been advocating for healthier food options. She joins Rosanna on this episode to teach us about our brain and biology, that we aren’t designed to fail, and educate us about food struggles.

You'll hear Rosanna and Monica talk about:

Companies are more concerned with making profits than with producing healthy foods. They don’t take our health or biological reactions to ingredients into account. Don’t fall for their advertising tricks, Monica warns.

Keeping it simple when it comes to our health takes just 2 steps: creating a baseline, and tracking your water intake. Creating a baseline involves understanding the percentage of products, as opposed to whole ingredients, that are in the foods you consume. When you track your water intake you can gauge just how much water you are consuming daily and make the necessary modifications.

Understanding how ingredients work together, or don’t work together, for your own specific needs is very important for your personal health.

You should focus on the quality of your ingredients instead of counting your calories.

How Monica’s approach differs from popular diet plans.

Where High Wire Women can get more information on Monica and the work she does.

Your bodies are made to heal. Your brains know what is best, and so you just need to tune into those key parts of yourselves in order to develop a healthy food plan that is specific to your own needs.
