Christmas at High Street: The Fathers of Jesus

It is amazing how the details of the Christmas story carry a message and a challenge. Last week, we looked at the mother of Jesus. This week we are going to look at the father of Jesus. In the Christmas story, Joseph is the husband of Mary and the assumed father of Jesus. After a visit from an angel, Joseph learned things no one else was told. This child of Mary is God. God was coming as a baby, fully human. God was coming to save us from our sin and to be with us. Joseph could have said no and walked away. Instead he responded with faith, obedience and courage. How will we respond to this story?
