In today's episode we'll be looking at wormwood, an herb closely related to the mysterious mugwort. Wormwood has earned itself a place in the 'notorious' plant category due to its use as a main ingredient in the reportedly mind altering spirit Absinthe in the 19th century. We'll take a look at this legendary drink and wormwoods supposed cause of madness, as well as its figurative use in literature, and its medicinal properties. We'll finish up by looking at wormwoods association with ancestor magick and use in spells for protection, reversing spells, and spells where the energy of bitterness is needed. I end the episode by sharing a fairly easy recipe for homemade absinthe, if you are so inclined.
