Dr. Rebecca Heiss is an evolutionary biologist, stress expert and keynote speaker, applying science to find solutions to ensure that our fears aren't holding us back from living full, happy, productive lives.

She uses her background in biology to work with individuals and organizations to re-mold our instinctive brains 🧠 and change behavioral patterns in order to overcome limiting beliefs subconscious fears that hold us back from being the best versions of ourselves.

She is the author of the book INSTINCT and founder of The Leap: a network for thriving professional women

In my mind, Rebecca is one of the best examples I’ve seen yet of someone committed to living a life of freedom – brave enough to show up in the world as her true, unadulterated self. And its beautifully refreshing.

You’ll hear Rebecca and I talk about the biggest biological irony: How our brain is built to help us survive, yet in doing so, it keeps us from actually living.

Rebecca unpacks the biologically workings of the our brains, brains that are more suited to the stone age than for modern times, and the types of fears that trigger stress responses today. We talk about practices, such as stress inoculation – a practice where you seek out forms of safe discomfort – to help override the primitive, reactive, instinctual brain which we often refer to as the amygdala or the “monkey brain”.

Rebecca and Pooja also unpack Imposter Syndrome, which affects 70-80% of the population.
