Proving that it’s never too late to pursue a passion, my guest today is an Army Reservist, a philanthropist, a pianist, and mixed media artist with a gift that you have to see. I’m happy to introduce today, Quia Z. Atkinson.

I first learned about Quia when I started seeing her art on Facebook. .

And she is on a mission to brighten the world one painting at a time. Atkinson has always been on the move. Growing up with two parents in the Marines, she had attended eleven schools by the time she was in high school and lived in locales as exotic as Rabat, Morocco, and Norway, and as familiar as Virginia, Illinois, and New York.

She earned a degree in Healthcare Management and Military Science and served in the Army Reserves. She plays classical piano. But she never considered art as a career until she was seeking something that would nurture a sense of identity, saying, “I had never considered becoming a professional artist; it has been an evolution by accident.”

Listen for:

How Quia turned to art as self care, and discovered a business waiting for her.How she finds inspiration for resilience and growth. How she finds balance between business, career, family and parenting, and caring for herself.
