Raising kids is hard work. Raising healthy eaters is even more challenging. There’s picky eaters, kids with food allergies and sensitivities, kids with auto-immune diseases, ADHD, anxiety and many more variables That affect why our kids eat the way they do. Starting with feeding babies, managing toddler meals and moving through school age kids, high school teens and, of course, college dorm students, healthy eating requires patience, proper nutrition education and some serious meal prep and planning. Most parents and caregivers are living very busy lives and often do not have the time to think all of this through. Nutrition expert, Maria Emmerich, shares her own struggles raising her two boys to be healthy eaters, as well as her top tips and hacks she uses in the kitchen to prepare nutrient dense and delicious meals that her family loves. Maria has raised her two boys on a high protein and fat ketogenic diet since they were babies while debunking almost all of the nutritional advice most of us have received since becoming new parents. Maria Emmerich is a nutritionist who specializes in the ketogenic diet and exercise physiology. She struggled with her own health and weight throughout childhood which led her to become such a passionate nutrition expert. She earned her master’s degree in health from the University of River Falls and has been a keynote speaker both internationally and nationally. Maria has appeared on Good Day NY, New Orleans and Twin Cities Live. Maria specializes in brain neurotransmitters and how food can increase mental wellness. She has also cooked with Halle Berry and writes for Halle’s website. She has written 20 books with 2 more coming out this year. Her books focus on low carb, ketogenic and carnivore recipes that are delicious and easy to make. She resides between Hawaii and her home state of WI with her husband and two sons who are becoming quite the Youtube stars with their cooking skills!
