A God with Empathy | Rediscovering Jesus

I have a feeling that some people prefer a God that’s more like a robot. A detached, programmable, predictable deity in the sky. And while God is consistent in character and characteristics, I think we lose something when we divorce him from his human experience -- and all that comes with it.

I’m your host Kate Boyd, and today, we’re talking all about the Jesus who had emotions and what that may mean for all of us humans with emotions too. 

Jesus is safe. Jesus is caring. Jesus gave us a glimpse of what being fully human can be, and that included having emotions and relating to others with them. They didn’t make him less God, and they don’t make us less godly either. I don’t know about you, but I take a lot of comfort in knowing that he will be as tender with me as with his friends because he counts me among them.
