Last summer, I took a webinar and was blown away by the issues surrounding this unique situation when parents disagree on how to parent a transgender or gender-expansive child. I was also shocked that there wasn’t more training in the courts to handle these issues.

Enter: Cammy Bellis to educate and illuminate us all!

Cammy is the Co-Director of the Health Equity Longitudinal Curricular Theme and Education and Training Specialist in the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix. Cammy is also the recent recipient of the 2020 Building the Next Generation of Academic Physicians (BNGAP) LGBT Health Professional Leadership Award.

In this episode, we discuss:

What happens when one parent affirms their child’s identity and the other does not?
How are courts treating cases like this?
What affirming parents can do to support their custody challenge in court.
What does happy even after look like for parents embroiled in a conflict of this kind?

This is an important topic and I’m so happy to be a student of this conversation.
