In this episode of Half Size Me, Heather talks to Jennifer about

why she approaches her weight loss from the mindset of asking, "Is this sustainable?"

why filling your mind with positive inspiration helps yield  positive results

how she learned to focus on small goals and what her body is capable of, rather than just focusing on the scale
and much more!

About Jennifer:

"I am a 41 year old wife, mother of three, blogger, and a new Crossfitter. I have spent my entire adult life battling my weight. Looking back, I was always afraid weight would be a problem, even before it was!
I saw adults in my life dieting on and off and I was afraid I would have to do that too. I know now that weight problems are not automatic and that my choices were the biggest problem, not my genetics.
Since early 2013, I have been learning and really evaluating my lifestyle and beliefs regarding my health. I don’t want to just lose weight, I want to become a better version of myself. I have been on a journey to learn what I am capable of, what I love, and how to maintain a way of living that supports a healthy body and family.

I've tried bootcamp, running, spin classes, kickboxing, Crossfit, and hiking. I've found that getting strong is my biggest goal, so Crossfit is my preferred exercise of the ones I've tried. But swimming and hiking (just for fun!) are in the running too!
For over a year, I simply tracked my food and tried to eat less calories than I burned. That worked for the first 40 pounds of weight loss. But when weight loss slowed down, I knew it was time to start looking seriously at the quality of my food.
I could no longer get away with sodas, fast food, and processed foods and reach my goals. So that is what I am working on now.
I have given up wheat and artificial sweeteners. Sugar is my next goal. I am participating in  the the Whole30 program in an effort to detox from all sugar except what is found naturally in fruit. I know these foods are not off limits forever, but I believe that I need to learn to enjoy healthier foods before I add them back in.
I work at home with my husband in our businesses and blog about my health journey at FinallyJennifer.com.
