This week on episode 015 of Gutted, I interview Dave Klaus a life coach and criminal defense attorney that has spent the last twenty years representing indigent defendants accused of serious crimes. Dave shares his involvement with the ManKind Project, an organization that offers trainings and circle gatherings for men all over the world, with an emphasis on teaching accountability, integrity, authenticity, and emotional literacy. This work has helped him grow himself, giving him the tools to be a part of the community’s healing after a 2012 massacre in Oakland, California. Dave’s participation in the case was a part of his Hero’s Journey: To get in the muck, to be in experience with the awfulness and the glory, to truly be in the mix of what it means to be alive.
