Not all Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. Many Native Americans mark the fourth Thursday of November as a National Day of Mourning. It’s not easy, but it’s possible to hold the day as both a day of gratitude and as a remembrance of the genocide, and loss of native wisdom in our culture and especially in our leadership.
