We are talking about our favorite cold and flu holistic swaps, here we go.

Hand Sanitizer - can contain triclosan  is known as a hormone disruptor, the best swap is to WASH your hands!  If hand sanitizer is still something you would like to use.

Elderberry Syrup ~ is an antiviral and super immune boosting. The berries are high in vitamins A,B, and C.  It really does help reduce the duration of the virus.  In our family we have used the syrup; lozenges; chewables and gummies.  

Garlic - contains the compound allicin, which may have antimicrobial properties. Adding garlic to your diet might reduce the severity of cold symptoms. According to research, it might even help you avoid getting sick in the first place.  

Manuka Honey - It is loaded with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds.   A great addition to your medicine cabinet, for sure!

Neti Pot ~  is great for clearing your sinus’ and clearing out mucus and yuck hanging out.  BE SURE TO ALWAYS USE DISTILLED/STERILE WATER AS YOUR WATER CHOICE and salt (this isn't table salt, a packet will come with your Neti Pot ~ there are refill packets available).

Echinacea  -  This herb can ward off a cold a mile away!!   It lowers the duration of colds.  It contains anti inflammatory properties, pain relieving history, helps to fight against infections helps with GI issues and is a natural constipation relief – drinking tea helps with this, can help with skin issues and anxiety

Ashwagandha – has been used for over 3000 years!  This is a great adaptogenic herb, which makes this herb incredible.  It’s ability to benefit several of our body systems like our endocrine immune, neurological, and even our productive systems!

Vitamin C – powerful antioxidant we often think of it when we are getting sick.  But it is so much more than that.  It helps the body’s regenerate and repair tissues, a biggie is helping in the absorption of IRON the 2 are like besties, it helps to decrease your LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.  It also fights against free radicals.
