When we think of someone who is a peacemaker, we often think of the one who smiles and nods through family dinners because they don't want to make a fuss. Or the one who can't say no. Or the one who is always trying to solve the conflicts between other people. But when Jesus refers to peacemakers as being blessed, He's not talking about people with boundary issues. He's talking about people who strive to help others make peace between themselves and God.

Everyone is at war with God, even the ones who pray and talk to Him every day. But Jesus came to end the war between human beings and God. He disarms the rebellion and fills the cracks in our soul with His love and through our union with Him we get to enjoy everlasting peace in eternity with our Creator. As Christians, we need to be ambassadors of the love that Jesus has shown us and be peacemakers here on earth.
