Sarah Tarca, writer and co-founder of The Wayward and Gloss etc, shares her inspirational story on what it was like to lose her stepdad, Daryl, who was the single greatest influence in her life, to colon cancer in 2005 when she was 23.

In something many of us can relate to, she shares how she coped with her grief while also trying to establish herself in a career and why we need to talk more openly about grief in the workplace.

We discuss how Darly’s passing gave Sarah the gift of using her writing to talk about grief, and has enabled her to help others through difficult times with true understanding. She shares how she connects with Daryl to keep his spirit alive and why losing someone you love can lead to a spiritual transformation.
