“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into smaller manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.” ~~ Mark Twain
Mark Twain is an American Humorist and Author. He was also an accomplished public speaker in his time. Today's quote from Twain discusses the three secrets of getting ahead. These are not just the secrets for writing or for speaking, but the secrets of getting ahead in Anything. These are universal truths.
Number 1: Getting Started - you won't ever get ahead in anything if you are behind because you didn't start.
Number 2: To Get Started - break complex tasks into smaller manageable action steps
Number 3: Start on the First One - Get Started. Start with the first, most important task.
This is a truth I learned years ago and this is one of the reasons why I added The How to the 3 Keys for Success in the Goal Achievement Success System.
The What is where you define what you want to achieve in clearly defined, specific words that you have written down.
The Why is the reason you want to achieve your goal(s). Why are you motivated to do this? Why must you succeed at all costs?
The How is the Action Plan to achieve your goal(s). What are the manageable action tasks that make up the complex tasks that need to be achieved for you to Get The Goals You Set.
But if you don't get started doing, you won't get ahead. You won't even get out of the gate.
