Does dairy do a body good?  Here to help answer this question is Dr. Simran Malhotra, MD, a triple board-certified physician specializing in Palliative Care and Lifestyle Medicine.  In this episode, Dr. Malhotra talks to us first about her inspiring story as a BRCA 1 previvor and her family history of cancer.  Her personal experience gave way to her current passion educating people on the impact that positive lifestyle change can have on quality of life and longevity.  From there, we discuss the power of plant based nutrition and focus on dairy.  We further explore what dairy is and why we should care about what’s in it.  We identify other food products classified under dairy besides milk and uncover why cheese is so addictive.  We then go into dairy’s reported benefits, potential harmful components and downstream effects on our our health.  We also talk about the Plant-based milk alternatives out on the market.  As a mother of two toddlers herself, Dr. Malhotra discusses her take on toddlers drinking dairy milk.  I hope our discussion helps you to make more informed and healthier choices when it comes to dairy.
