This week on Getting Literate, Katie and Julia venture into the YA fantasy/Roman-inspired world of An Ember in The Ashes, lamenting unsexy protagonists, and thirsting over sexy side-characters, and appreciating the fuck out of a well-crafted villain. Katie will always think the villain is kinda sexy, and Julia can't escape a childhood-besties-to-romantic-entanglement arc. PLUS: love diamonds, Pakistani folk lore, and shitty giftbags. As always, there's definitely spoilers, so proceed with caution.
