Shawn Layden: Great Leaders Are Explorers. This week Shawn Layden joined Jennifer Hill and Brandon Maslan to discuss what makes a great leader, and how to implement that leadership. Shawn discussed his 30+ year journey at Sony Corporation and Playstation, while sharing the lessons he learned along the way. He reminded the audience that early in your career, be sure to be a great follower by making yourself useful and being engaged. Tell a compelling story to relay your points, the leaders of tomorrow are going to be "explorers" who are charting the unknown, and that a leader’s job is to clear the road of obstacles so their people can do their jobs. We also learned about why everyone should be an ally as well as why it just makes good business sense.
