Gary O’Brien is an HIV/AIDS advocate and group facilitator at Being Alive LA, an HIV/AIDS non-profit based in Los Angeles. Gary and Oliver are both living with HIV, and this shared experience sparks an intimate dialogue about current issues HIV-positive people often face. Gary and Oliver talk about the global inequality in healthcare accessibility, and also bring up the fact that many people are still not aware of what HIV undetectable means—which raises a lot of questions such as: How to spread knowledge about HIV undetectable? How and when to disclose your status to your sexual partner when you are already HIV undetectable? What are some common discriminations HIV-positive and undetectable people receive? Gary and Oliver also recount the story of how they were infected with HIV and how they learn to accept living with this disease, with a more optimistic outlook.
