In this podcast episode, I chat with Ting, a Third Culture Adult who is currently interviewing fellow TCKs and TCAs about their experiences. I first heard about her project when I went to a TCK event in Shanghai earlier this year. During this event Ting shared her experiences living in China, Singapore, the U.S. and Hong Kong- all before she graduated from college. She had, as many geopats do, a complex mix of conflicting emotions and experiences connected to this multicultural identity. More on her story in a moment.

A few quick things:

-A special thanks to Damon Castillo for letting us use this instrumental version of the song “I got to be right” from his “Mess of Me” album. All of his music, concert info and such can be found at https://www.damoncastillo.com/ (https://www.damoncastillo.com/) . You can hear the entire song,  with lyrics, at the end of this episode. If you are lucky enough to live in or near central coast CA, you can check Damon and his band out.

-The Geopats Podcast newsletter #3 is out now. In this weekly newsletter I share some behind the scene information on upcoming episodes, a podcast recommendation that connects to our expat, language and/or tech topics, and lots more. Go to stephfuccio.com to check out the most recent newsletter AND to sign up to get future ones in your email inbox.

-If listening to podcasts makes you think about making your own, I can help! You can get a free month of Podbean hosting service by using this promo code: (https://www.voices.com/actors/stephfuccio#bio) .  What I am NOT charging for promo spots in the three interview shows on the Geopats Podcast, I am offering them for FREE to Content Creators that I like AND that fit into that particular episode’s content.

Although Ting is only in her 20’s, her location trajectory looks like this: China-U.S.-China-U.S.-Singapore-Hong Kong-U.S.-China. This kind of frequent geo change might unnerve some people or even disorient them. But for her, it seems to have solidified who she is globally, not just in relation to one nation, one place, one culture.
